Jan De Nul is committed to shaping water and land. From complex offshore services to both the fossil and renewable energy sectors, to large dredging and land reclamation projects at the edge of water and land, to all kinds of civil and environmental works on land.
Thanks to continuous investment in people and its own equipment, combined with intensive cooperation between the various departments, Jan De Nul Group studies and carries out complex multidisciplinary projects from A to Z. They go for the total package, and always in a sustainable manner.
Problem
The marketing team of Jan De Nul was already using an image bank to centralise assets, but this no longer met the group's needs. In addition, the old system was no longer user-friendly. There was a need for a future-proof solution that could further support the growing number of assets of Jan De Nul.
These were mainly images that had to be linked to a project defined in an internal project database. On the images, it must also be possible to indicate which devices are present: type of boat, type of digger, etc.
Solution
Together with Jan De Nul, we went looking for a solution that met the requirements of the organisation. We implemented a DAM solution on an on-premise environment. In addition, we developed a data model fully tailored to Jan De Nul's needs. There is an integration with the project database, but also with the active directory of Jan de Nul. This way, we could also grant certain rights to the users according to the settings in the AD.
Various custom landing pages were developed with different components such as all media, video, images, collections, etc.
Result
Zeticon's integrated DAM solution, MediaHaven, is now the central platform for different services within Jan de Nul to manage various forms of digital assets. Today, their image bank solution includes more than 70,000 assets and almost 500 GB of data.
The system is used daily by the communication and marketing team to upload various projects from the different departments of Jan De Nul. It is also used, for example, to keep track of employees' passport photos to support their travel services. After all, employees often have to go abroad for long periods of time.
Zeticon's solution has already brought several benefits to the Jan De Nul team:
- Easy access to content within the organisation
- Central location
- Assets can be easily shared and downloaded
- Logical search: The DAM system is structured in such a way that all departments can find what they need without having to ask a colleague.
- Images and documents are much easier to find
